Wanda has a passion to see children grow to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She wants to provide children with the necessary tools needed to boldly live out their faith in a culture that teaches them otherwise. She knows the importance of establish an environment in which children are loved, families are encouraged, and lives are enriched through God’s Word. It was on a missions trip to Russia that God placed the desire to serve Him full-time. She is committed to see hearts and young lives changed for the cause of Christ.
Wanda trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of 12 at her home church in Orange, Virginia and where she was an active participant. After high school she attended James Madison University where she received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree. In 2008, Wanda received a Master’s of Education degree from Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA.
In the fall of 1989, she began attending the Woodstream Church and sang in the choir and in 1991 she joined the fellowship. Since that time, she has also served as a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Coordinator, and small group leader. God has given Wanda opportunities to serve on short-term missions teams to Russia, Grenada, West Indies (twice), and New York City. In 2005, Wanda left her position as a Human Resources Manager, after 17 years in the Federal government, to accept God’s call to full-time Christian service.
She currently serves as Woodstream’s Children’s Ministries Director and it has been through the power of God and her leadership and the committed volunteers that a comprehensive Children’s Ministry is established at Woodstream. She was also instrumental in carrying out Pastor Bob and Sister Yolande’s vision to establish the Girls of CHARACTER Ministry and serves as ministry advisor.
One of her favorite scripture verses is Jeremiah 29:11. She wants to share with all children that God loves them; they should honor Him with their lives; and remain focused as His very special plan for them is revealed.
